Report: Poland not to buy gas from Russia after 2022

WARSAW, Mar 17 (PRIME) -- Poland plans to stop buying Russian natural gas after 2022 even under short-term contracts, Piotr Naimsky, the Polish government’s plenipotentiary for strategic energy infrastructure, said in an interview with RMF FM radio station broadcast on Thursday.

The long-term contract for supplies of Russian gas to Poland expires at the end of 202. The Polish authorities decided against prolongation of the contract.

“Even if someone could think that these (supplies under short-term contracts) could be profitable from the point of view of business, it is difficult to imagine that in the current times,” Naimski said.
